Financial & Insurance

Financial:

Orthodontic treatment is an excellent investment in an individual’s dental and psychological well-being. Financial considerations should not be an obstacle to obtaining this important health service. Since the cost depends on the complexity of each patient’s treatment, fees can vary from person to person. You will receive a written document outlining the fees associated with your treatment in our office. We recognize that our patients have different needs in fulfilling their financial obligations and, we provide several financing options from which to choose.

If payment is made in full at the onset of treatment, we will offer a discount off of the standard treatment fee.

We offer an in-office no-interest financing plan, with monthly payments stretched out equally over the length of the anticipated treatment.

We also offer third-party financing options.

For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA, MasterCard and Discover.

We understand that complications can arise and special situations may occur. If you need to change your financial arrangements, please call us immediately to prevent complications.

Insurance:

There are many different agreements between insurance providers and their subscribers, and each contract provides a different benefit. Orthodontic insurance generally differs from regular dental insurance in that each insured individual usually has a lifetime maximum benefit. This benefit is paid as a percentage of the orthodontic fee over the course of treatment until the maximum benefit has been reached. The fees we charge for services rendered to those who are insured are our usual and customary fees charged to all patients for similar services.

If you do not see our office name on your insurance company’s list of in-network providers, please understand that for the majority of orthodontic insurance plans this will not influence your orthodontic benefit. We are committed to helping you maximize your orthodontic insurance benefit. When you call our office to schedule an appointment for your free initial examination, our staff will assist you in determining your orthodontic benefit coverage.

We file orthodontic insurance as a courtesy and convenience to our patients. We do not charge any additional fees to provide this service. We would like to clearly identify the relationship among the three of us: you, your insurance company and our office. The relationship between you and our office is that you have contracted with us to provide orthodontic services. There is no direct relationship between your insurance company and our office. Your insurance company has to answer to you and your employer, not our office.

There is no way to know exactly what your insurance will or will not pay. We attempt to estimate your coverage to the best of our knowledge. Insurance companies will give us a general description of benefits, but this is no guarantee of payment. We are happy to file a pre-treatment estimate before treatment is started, but this is not a guarantee of payment. Many factors can change the amount of insurance benefits paid.

If your coverage or insurance company should change, it is your responsibility to notify our office and provide the correct information. Delays in reporting new information will result in unnecessary confusion caused by filing to the wrong insurance company. Please make us aware of any changes to your orthodontic insurance as soon as possible.
