Bullying Bites: Taking a Stand with the AAO
Every smile deserves to shine with confidence, but for many young people, bullying can make that difficult. That is why the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) created the Bullying Bites campaign. This important initiative brings awareness to the lasting impact of bullying and encourages communities to work together to put an end to it.
What Is Bullying Bites?
Bullying Bites is an annual campaign led by the AAO in partnership with Stand for the Silent. Each October, during National Bullying Prevention Month, orthodontists across the country join forces to raise awareness about bullying. The campaign also overlaps with National Orthodontic Health Month, creating an opportunity for orthodontists to highlight both healthy smiles and healthy communities. The message is simple and powerful: #bullyingbites.
Why It Matters
Bullying is more than hurt feelings. It can affect a child’s self-esteem, mental health, and overall well-being. Many children are teased about their appearance, including their smiles. Orthodontists are in a unique position to support young patients, reminding them that every smile is worth celebrating. By taking part in Bullying Bites, orthodontists and their patients are joining a global movement to create safe, respectful environments for all kids.
Cranford Orthodontics and Bullying Bites
At Cranford Orthodontics, we are proud to participate in Bullying Bites each year. Our team uses this time to raise awareness, share resources, and encourage our patients to be kind, supportive, and proud of their smiles. We believe that ending bullying starts with each of us choosing compassion over cruelty. By standing together, we can make a difference in our community and beyond.
Supporting More than Just Smiles
Bullying Bites is more than a campaign. It is a reminder that kindness and confidence go hand in hand. This October, join Cranford Orthodontics in the fight against bullying and help us spread the word that #bullyingbites.
